Langley Park Care Home, one of our Durham-based homes, is proud to announce that it has officially achieved Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation, an important recognition of the home’s commitment to supporting veterans and their families.

This accreditation confirms that Langley Park understands the unique needs and experiences of those who have served in the Armed Forces. Becoming VFF accredited means the home is formally recognised for providing an inclusive environment where veterans feel respected, valued, and supported.
Achieving this status ensures that Langley Park Care Home:

  • Provides tailored care and support for veterans
  • Connects residents with veteran-specific services and communities

To gain the accreditation, the team at Langley Park worked through the application process, developing Veteran Friendly champions, strengthening community links and building relationships, and supporting other homes on their journey.

As part of their ongoing commitment to holding activities and events that are veteran focused, Langley Park is helping to organise veteran coffee afternoons. The home has registered with the Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Clubs (AFVBC) to help establish monthly coffee mornings, with the aim of welcoming veterans from the local community and encouraging them to connect in a friendly, supportive environment.

Following the home’s VFF accreditation, Langley Park Manager Sarah Jones shared her pride in what the team had achieved, saying: “For many veterans, access to appropriate support and shared understanding can make a huge difference to their wellbeing. At Langley Park, every resident’s life story is valued, and those who have served our country are supported with respect and compassion. We are incredibly honoured to have achieved Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation and remain committed to creating a supportive environment for veterans and their families.”

A plaque marking the accreditation has been placed at the front entrance of the home, so it is visible for all residents, relatives, staff and visitors.
